Kaden the Explosives Basenji
Kaden is truly a new generation Georgia K9 Project Dog. Basenjis are a primitive breed of dog from the Congo in Africa. Historically, they are hunters with Pygmy tribes but their roots may be in Egypt where their depictions may still be seen at the feet of the Pharaohs on ancient hieroglyphs. We have worked with the breed for several years now and have found them to be incredibly intelligent and agile. Couple these traits with a great nose and soft presentation and you have the makings of a good explosives detection dog.
Kaden and his Invicta Kennel litter were evaluated starting at one week of age up to their final testing age of 8 weeks. Kaden passed a full battery of suitability tests specifically designed to evaluate and choose a scent working dog. Kaden’s test results were off the charts and he is performing well with his early training.
Oakwood, Georgia Police Dept. Bandit
Oakwood Police Department’s newest K9 is Bandit, handled by Lt. Rick Whaley. Bandit was hand selected by Georgia K9 as a puppy for his job as a trailing and narcotics dog. Bandit is another Superior K9 prodigy and his work drive is superb. He began his trailing training with Georgia K9 at eight weeks of age.
