Jeff Absolutely Rocks!!! I have taken his class and he personally set the problems and flanked me on each one. First he set them to show, hands on, what areas I had problems with. Then, step by step he flanked and with a non intrusive word in my ear how to surmount the issues at hand. How he managed to stay out of sight, at my shoulder, with just the right amount of input at the perfect time while running through the brush and woods with my dog taught me more about my dog and tracking then all my other efforts to learn this skill combined. |

I have learned so much from the WASAR conference being in your class. I am looking forward to the Oregon's Northwest Conference and am in high hopes Buck and I can earn the Level II certification. Your Book Red Dog Rising has taught me
to live doing the thing that is my Passion, and that's Trailing and the desire to be where I am needed and to help when the need for help is requested. Thanks you for all the people you have reached out to in your training methods that show results.

Jeff..,
Thank you for Red Dog Rising and for sharing your humble beginnings with all of us. I am a bloodhound handler with a SAR organization out of Southwest Florida and I am relating to ever line of your book, far more then any book I've ever read in the K9 subject. Thank you for sharing. I just received the book yesterday from a SAR friend and I can't wait to finish it.
I hope to someday meet you, study and learn more from you and Kelly.
Thank you again, Dj Beddow |

I have two rescue GSD mixes, who are emphatically hairy and surely allergetic, but I love them even when I'm brushing and sweeping up their hair daily. I wanted both in agility training, but the smaller one has hip dysplasia in both hips and arthritis in both elbows. Rather than surgery, a thankfully conservative vet surgeon recommended exercise, homeopathic meds, and exercise rather than surgery at this time. Both dogs are in daycare several days a week. Chole, my little girl, is doing well with the kind of exercise daycare provides. The other, mostly GSD with some Rottweiler, is the most amazingly energetic animal I've ever known, and she'd eager to please. She's already well-behaved at 16 months. Her latest delight is racing around the (large, fenced back) yard, leaping over flower beds and any other obstacle in her path. Moxie is a special dog, and she deserves more than her human 65 year-old mother can give her. I work with GSDRGA, and we have Max in the K9 institute program right now. Boy, is he a beauty, and I love seeing what you've done with a dog who was a problem to place until he came to you. I'm going to be calling you to see how I can get Moxie involved in special training, especially agility. I also want Chloe, the smaller GSD and the sweetest dog who ever lived, to be a visiting companion dog for nursing homes and special education facilities. I'll be in touch soon, and thank you for all you do for GSDRGA and all the other dogs you train. You've saved many otherwise unmanageable dogs from euthanasia. |

I am the k-9 supervisor for my agency. I am currently trying to convince my agency in the abilities and applications of my 4 year old rescued bloodhound - Abbey; much in the manner that Mr. Schettler did with Alameda PD with Ronin. Red Dog Rising is a testament to the dedication and tenacity of Mr. Schettler and I hope to have my own success story like that one day! |
