WHY IS OBEDIENCE IMPORTANT?
Obedience training plays a huge role in the quality of a dog's life, allowing him/her to live a longer, happier life
with his/her family. Obedience training provides a dog with structure, leadership, socialization, communication,
and attention. It provides a clear and consistent line of communication between you and your dog. Obedience
training sets the foundation for a healthy relationship as well as helping to prevent behavioral problems from arising.
BASIC OBEDIENCE
Our Basic Obedience program will teach your dog basic obedience
commands when on a leash. These commands include: heel with
automatic sit, sit/stay, and down/stay at your side. Your dog will
hand signals associated with each command.
Your dog will understand that when you say "no" stop what I am
doing. All necessary equipment including, leash & collar will be
included with the program.
INTERMEDIATE OBEDIENCE
Our Intermediate Obedience program builds on the Basic Obedience Program adding the commands sit & down from a distance, motion commands, and come with an automatic sit. Each command will have a corresponding hand signal that is as effective as a verbal command. This will help in building your dogs focus on you. We will also include the “place” command. All necessary equipment including, leash & collar, Mutt Mat, training tab, and remote collar (if used) will be included in this package.
ADVANCED OBEDIENCE
Our Advanced Obedience program is designed to give you control of your dog on or off the leash. Your dog will be able to perform all of the commands taught in our Intermediate program on or off leash using verbal commands or hand signals. All necessary equipment: leash, collar, Mutt Mat, remote collar, and training tab are included. Owners have the option to take the AKC Canine Good Citizen test by a AKC Certified Evaluator after program completion.
BY THE LESSON
This program is offered to those who just need a bit of brushing up on obedience that was already learned or polish commands the dog is having trouble with. This can also be used as a starting point for behavioral problem solving when recommended by your trainer and after a proper evaluation is done.
ENVIRONMENTAL TRAINING
Environmental training is by far the number one Georgia K9 Academy training component outside basic obedience. Our environmental training offers the average dog owner to take their pet out into public places without annoying or embarrassing behavior.
More often than not, most dog fanciers keep their pets at home with little outside contact. The simple reason for this is the inability to cope with the dog’s fear, aggression, or erratic behavior in new situations or locations. There is no reason in the world why the average K9 companion cannot be truly that, a companion in most, if not all, situations.
Let our K9 trainers with years of real world Working Dog Experience bring your dog to the comfortable place you really want them to be. We take our law enforcement K9 environmental association training techniques and give them a contemporary civilian twist. The result generally produces dogs confident and happy to be in almost every public setting. Imagine your dog accompanying you to the park or any outside event, right by your side in complete control.
BEHAVIOR PROBLEM SOLVING
Behavior problems can be the result from a number of factors in the dog's life. These problems can be genetic, but in most cases a dog is reacting to mixed signals given by the owner. Most behavior problems can be solved through obedience training and clear and consistent communication between you and your dog. Through a behavior consultation with a Georgia K9 Trainer, we can determine the cause of the problem and develop a training program to solve your dog’s behavior problems. Georgia K9 Trainers can assist owners in dealing with common behavior problems such as house training, chewing, or jumping on people. Georgia K9 Trainers are also experts in dealing with more serious problems such as dog aggression, people aggression, and running away.
